Adored Skateboarding and Dowd Records have partnered to create the Adored Record Club.

The Adored Record Club celebrates the amazing songs we’ve discovered thanks to skateboarding. Lost songs from video parts that still move us, bands that make us want to grab our boards and our friends. Tears will fall and fists will raise in cheer!

Adored Record Club releases are curated by Corey Duffel as part of his stellar new brand - Adored Skateboarding

Spent and Sound Salvation from Crossed wire on limited edition 7” vinyl

featuring album art by Chris Moore

We have something so insanely special for the next Adored Record Club Release - Spent and Sound Salvation from Crossed wire on limited edition vinyl with art by Crossed Wire singer Chris Moore.

Mark Heintzman’s part from G&S Footage with Spent by Crossed Wire is easily one of the most moving video parts of all time. The song’s acoustic intro paired with the shots of Mark’s house and him setting up a board build to an awesome moment when the song kicks in just as the first trick is landed - this is pure 90’s film art. The slow motion tricks during the break down in the song are simply beautiful. Mark’s slo-mo nosepick still gives me the chills. To put it mildly - we love this part and song!

Spent was THE song Corey wanted to use for Adored Record Club’s second release but Spent was only put out in 1988 on Crossed Wire’s excellent In the Hollow album and Sound Salvation was only released on the equally awesome self titled Crossed Wire debut in 1986. The original song masters to both albums have been lost to time and to pull off this release we ripped the audio from our own vinyl copies of In the Hollow and Crossed Wire and had then remastered them for vinyl (again) by our amazing sound engineer Lance Miler. The tracks came out incredible - rich and bright and full of the same energy we have loved for the last 30 years.

This whole project gets a huge thank you to all of people who made Footage - the list is unreal - and to the band members of Crossed Wire but especially to Chris Moore. Thank you - this release could not have happened without you. To make this release even more special, Chris has designed all the album art for this release. Chris is a brilliant lifelong musician and artist and if you haven’t checked out what he has been up to you need to go take a look right now here: Chris Moore Bandcamp.

The Crossed Wire X Adored Record Club tees and hoodies are here!

Here’s a quick little history of Crossed Wire - Crossed Wire was formed by Chris Moore and Rob McCullough, (two members of Detroit's legendary hardcore / punk pioneers Negative Approach) with Bud Burcar and Kurt Marschke in summer of 1985. The band released 2 EPs, 1 LP, a 7-inch single, and 2 full-length CDs garnering positive reviews and a dedicated fan base by combining tight dynamic live shows with strong songcraft and colorful musicianship. The line-up would change over the years to include Gary Watts, Cary Marsh and Matt O'Brien to further expand the boundaries of their sonic palette which explored edgy, jangle pop, roots rock, and post punk. The band amicably called it quits in 1996 after Moore decided to relocate to New York to pursue a solo career in music and dedicate time to his artwork.

YEEEOOW!!

Alone from the cry on 7” vinyl - Sold Out

The beloved song Alone from The Cry was released on 7” vinyl in three different colorways along with another classic song from the same time period, Told Me So as the B-Side.

Alone is incredibly special to Corey and to us here at Dowd and the perfect song to kick off the Adored Record Club. Very few songs have been so perfect and so memorable in multiple skate videos and in the Adored Skateboarding launch video. Alone just works so well with skating and is arguably one of the best skate video songs ever!

Told Me So is one of our favorite songs from The Cry and I could not be happier with this song for the B-Side. YEEEOOOW!

We hope you enjoy this release as much we loved putting it together! This will be the last Alone Adored Record Club release.

All art and design by Corey Duffel.
